How Can I Learn Through the Internet?
Teaching is performed using Internet-based video conferencing. The
student sees the teacher, who is in Israel, by video, and speaks with
the teacher through their PC microphone. Class materials appear in
multimedia form on the computer screen. Each student has a set of
interactive tools which facilitates the perfect learning experience.
Classes are held during the afternoon or evening according to the
student's timezone.

Is There A Class That's Right For Me?
There are numerous courses intended for anyone interested in gaining
control of and improving their fluency in the Hebrew language: speaking,
reading, reading comprehension,writing, and creative writing. The
program is divided into two categories: Hebrew as a Second Language for
students whose native tongue is not Hebrew; and Native Level Hebrew for
those whose native tongue is Hebrew and who wish to improve their
fluency, with an emphasis on reading and writing. In all courses, an
emphasis is placed on Israeli and Jewish culture and holidays.

Hebrew Lessons for Adults Beginners - A
Target Population: Adult students of all ages (over 17), who do
not speak, read or write in Hebrew.
Duration of Course : One year with one Hebrew lesson each week.
Structure and Goals of Course
The course focuses on speaking, reading and writing spoken Hebrew and
modern Hebrew. Throughout the course students will acquire 500 words in
Hebrew used in basic conversation on a variety of topics. Students will
also learn the Hebrew alphabet (Aleph Bet) and all vowels. This course
is given at the same level as stage one of an Ulpan in Israel.
Students meet once a week and are asked to complete homework assignments
- in the textbook and on pages sent by the teacher every week. These
sheets also include a list of new words learnt that week.
At the end of the course the student will:
know how to find his way in Hebrew and describe his or her
surroundings.
have a basic vocabulary of 500 Hebrew words, useful to his or her
typical daily activities.
know how to talk in Hebrew to ask for objects found in his or her
surroundings.
know how to express basic feelings and emotions in Hebrew.
know how to construct basic sentences in Hebrew.
know how to read short texts, stories and essays in Hebrew.
know how to write simple short Hebrew sentences.

Hebrew for Adults Beginners - B
Target Population: Adult students of all ages (over 17), who can
hold a basic conversation in Hebrew, know the alpha-bet and can read and
write short and simple texts.
Duration of Course: A one year course of one session each week.
Structure and Goals of Course
The course builds a solid ground for fluent speech, focusing on correct
grammar in Hebrew. The class meets every week and practices the use of
the correct grammar in speaking, reading and writing. Homework
assignments are given every week as well as a list of new words learnt
in class. Throughout the course students will expand their vocabularies
which will significantly improve their level of speaking.
At the end of the course the student will:
know how to speak in Hebrew and ask for objects found in their
surroundings.
know how to express feelings and emotions in Hebrew.
know how to construct sentences in Hebrew in their correct
grammar.
know how to read short texts, stories and essays in Hebrew.
know how to write short texts in Hebrew.

Hebrew for Adults Intermediates - C
Target Population: Adult students of all ages (over 17), whose
mother tongue is not Hebrew. This course is for intermediate students
who can hold a basic conversation in Hebrew, read and write basic Hebrew
and wish to improve their fluency and understanding skills.
Duration of Course: One year with one Hebrew lesson each week.
Structure and Goals of Course
During this course students will learn grammatical structures in Hebrew
and become acquainted with ways of using and identifying various modes
of language. Students will learn how to differentiate between past and
future, singular and plural, male and female, and learn how conjugate
verbs. Students will enhance their vocabulary and improve their
expressive and understanding skills.
Students meet once a week and must complete homework assignments - in
the textbook and on pages sent by the teacher every week. These sheets
also include a list of new words learnt that week.
At the end of the course the student will:
know how to express himself more freely and fluently in Hebrew.
speak more confidently as he is more aware of correct grammatical rules
in Hebrew.
know how to talk in Hebrew to ask for objects found in his
surroundings.
be able to write basic texts.
have acquired an additional 300 Hebrew words, over those learnt
in Part 1.

Hebrew for Adults Advanced - E
Target Population: Adult students of all ages (over 17), who
are able to conduct a conversation in Hebrew on different topics, read
Hebrew texts such as newspaper articles and express themselves in Hebrew
writing.
Duration of Course
One academic year.
Structure and goals of course:
The course focuses on enhancing all language skills of the students with
special attention given to engaging in conversations.
Each class contains a reading part and a discussion part. Through the
reading of articles from the newspaper as well as pieces of literature,
the students improve their reading comprehension and enhance their
vocabulary. Through the discussion, the students improve their speaking
skills and listening comprehension.
The class meets once a week, students must complete homework assignments
sent by the teacher after each lesson, to facilitate work on their
writing skills.
At the end of the course the student will:
have a large reservoir of useful vocabulary on diverse issues.
feel comfortable expressing themselves in Hebrew, both orally and
in writing, giving a description and voicing their opinion.
feel comfortable reading Hebrew texts and have the necessary
tools to tackle new texts.
have a better understanding of Hebrew structure and grammar.
be more familiar with the Israeli culture that is reflected in
many of the texts read throughout the course.

Hebrew for Adults Advanced - D
Target Population: Adult students of all ages (over 17), who are
able to conduct a conversation in Hebrew on different topics, read
Hebrew texts such as newspaper articles and express themselves in Hebrew
writing.
Duration of Course: One academic year.
Structure and goals of course:
The course presents newspaper clippings and articles that have appeared
in the Israeli media over the previous week. The selected pieces are
designed to help explore some of the major issues and social problems
facing Israeli society. Each topic is followed by a live discussion in
Hebrew.
The class meets once a week, students must complete homework assignments
sent by the teacher to facilitate work on their writing skills.
At the end of the course the student will:
enrich their vocabulary on diverse issues.

Israeli journalism.

of the language. The students should have experience in reading and

Structure and goals of course: The course focuses on reading and
writing Modern Hebrew. Throughout the course students learn the Hebrew
alphabet (Aleph Bet) and vowels, and acquire 500 words in Hebrew used in

Hebrew for Kids Advanced
Target Population: Students aged 7-16 (groups are divided according
to age) whose native language is not Hebrew.
The course is intended for both, students continuing on from our
Beginners course, and students with previous knowledge of Hebrew.
Duration of Course: One school year.
Structure and goals of course: The course focuses on grammatical
structures in Hebrew such as present and past tense, infinitive
construct, prepositions, and verb conjugation, and introduces ways of
using and identifying various modes of language.
The students are presented with written social situations and express
their opinions and thoughts in an oral and written manner. Students
converse with one another and with the teacher, and enhance their
reading, writing, and conversational skills in a supportive virtual
environment.
At the end of the course the student will:
know how to express themselves more freely and fluently.
speak more confidently as they are more aware of correct
grammatical rules in Hebrew.
know how to read more fluently and be able to read texts.
be able to write basic texts.
